Everything You Need to Know Before Your Visit
Whether you're stopping by for your morning espresso, taking a well-deserved break after exploring Dorsoduro, or joining us for an evening drink, we want your time at Raro to be effortless. Below, you’ll find quick answers to our most common questions regarding opening hours, family policies, location, and more.
General Information & Hours
We welcome guests six days a week, Monday through Sunday, from 12 AM to 23 PM. Please keep in mind that Raro is closed all day on Wednesdays to give our team a rest and allow us to restock with fresh local ingredients. If you are planning a visit on a public holiday, we recommend checking our Instagram page or website for any temporary adjustments.
Where are you located?
Raro is tucked away in the vibrant, artistic district of Dorsoduro at Campo San Pantalon, 3711, 30123 Venezia (VE). We are situated just a few steps from Campo San Pantalon, making us an ideal stop before or after visiting the Church of San Pantalon (famous for the world's largest ceiling canvas), the Scuola Grande di San Rocco, or the Basilica dei Frari.
How do I get to Raro from St. Mark's Square or Santa Lucia Train Station?
On foot: From Santa Lucia Railway Station or Piazzale Roma, it is a scenic 10 to 15-minute walk south through quiet Venetian alleyways. From St. Mark’s Square or the Accademia Bridge, expect a pleasant 15 to 20-minute walk through the heart of Dorsoduro.
By Vaporetto (Water Bus): Take Line 1 or Line 2 to the San Tomà stop. From the boat dock, Raro is less than a 5-minute walk over just two small bridges.
Are pets allowed inside Raro?
Yes, 100%! We know that dogs are essential travel companions—especially in a walking city like Venice. Well-behaved dogs of all sizes are warmly welcomed both inside our indoor seating area and at our outdoor tables. Just ask our team if your four-legged friend needs a fresh bowl of water after exploring the canals.
Is Raro family-friendly and suitable for young children?
Yes, absolutely. Families with children are always welcome. While historic Venetian spaces can be compact, we do our best to comfortably accommodate strollers and offer child-friendly food and drink options. If you need hot water to prepare baby formula or specific seating arrangements, just let our staff know and we will be happy to assist.
What kind of food and drinks do you serve throughout the day?
Raro transitions smoothly from day to night. In the morning, we serve quality espresso drinks, fresh pastries, and light breakfast options. Midday brings curated lunch plates, artisan sandwiches, and fresh salads. In the late afternoon and evening, Raro shifts into a relaxed spot for Venetian aperitivo, fine wines, and signature cocktails paired with savory bites.
Do you cater to dietary restrictions like vegan, vegetarian, or gluten-free?
Yes! We want everyone to enjoy their time at Raro regardless of dietary requirements. We offer a selection of vegetarian and vegan options on our regular menu, as well as plant-based milk alternatives (such as oat or soy) for coffee beverages. While our kitchen handles gluten, we also carry select gluten-conscious items. Please inform our team of any severe allergies or dietary preferences before ordering so we can accommodate you safely.
Do I need to book a table in advance?
Walk-ins are always welcome, and we keep tables available for spontaneous visits throughout the day. However, during high travel seasons (spring through autumn) or for evening drinks and weekend meals, reserving a table in advance is strongly recommended to avoid waiting.
Can Raro host private events or accommodate large tour groups?
Yes, we can host private gatherings, small celebrations, cocktail hours, or group visits by appointment. Because space in Venice is limited, please reach out to us at least a week in advance via our contact form or email at [Insert Email Address] so we can tailor a menu and seating plan for your group.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept cash (Euros), all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express), and contactless digital payments including Apple Pay and Google Pay.
